Well hey! looks like you've stumbled your way onto this "cavern of creativity" if you will.
Let's clear up any misconceptions right away.
1. My name is not Whitton or White, it is Holly. Whitton was my
grandma's maiden name and White was my grandpa's middle name. the two
sounded pretty dandy together and vuala! here we are.
2. I am not a professional graphic designer. I am actually an expert at
the "self-taught" concept, and I have to say it's working out pretty
well for me! (so far) When life settles down, I'll look more seriously into
learning more from the professionals. When life settles down... ha!
Those, I'm thinking, are the only misconceptions you might have. I hope!
I started out gooing around on Picnik like every other teenager in the
joint (joint meaning world.) Buuut we don't like to talk about those
dark, over-editing ages. In high school I got more into photography and
focused on that for a long long time, but as of late, my focus has
changed drastically to design. I'm the one pointing out a nice font on a
menu, and critiquing the small business's awful blog design. ya feel?!
I am working as an on-call graphic designer for the church's social media department, which is far and away the biggest blessing and best opportunity I have ever come across.
I wish, I WISH I could draw, but I can't. that's life.
Inspirations, you ask? I'll tell you! Mary Blair, Anna Bond, Katie Daisy, and Jessica Hische. Also just Pinterest as a whole.
I do believe that a huge HUGE part of design, is whether you are putting colors to good use. I absolutely love
the idea that I can use whatever colors I want on whatever words I
want. Life gets a little strange, and uncontrollable at times, but I can
always control what happy colors I am putting together, and I like
that.
Thanks for being here! I mean that. Really. Thank you.
